Watch the film about Alfred Nobel's life. Then write a letter to Kim explaining a little more about the man behind the prizes. Mail it to/share it with me. Write between 50 and 100 words.

Lucia, Quiz and Girl Missing

Lesson Aims

• To see a film and have a discussion about Lucia in Sweden

We have now entered December which is a busy month in Sweden for high days and holidays.

Apart from Christmas and the days surrounding it we have Lucia, Nobel Day and, of course, the New Year.

Today we are going to watch a short film about Lucia. Afterwards I want you to discuss in pairs what Lucia means to you. Why do you think a tradition which came originally from Italy has such significance in Sweden?
